The group is named after a certain woman in the bible who was known to be full of good works and alms-deeds. It was reported that she touched the lives of many widows in her community by making coats and garments for them.
Her impact must have been so great that when she died, they sent for Peter asking him to come immediately. God worked a miracle through Peter that resurrected her from the dead. And this brought glory to God’s name.

Our prayer is that God will give us the grace to be like this disciple and enable us to continuously make a positive impact in the lives of the people around us.
